I took a couple cameras down to the Huzzak Creek to record the 2017 total eclipse. We are in the path of totality here in Missouri and captured some awesome footage of the sun, moon and surrounding area as well as some still images.
Initially, I wasn’t going to shoot the eclipse but I guess a few months ago I ordered a Sigma 150-600 from LensRentals and it showed up on my doorstep on Friday. This resparked my interest in photographing it instead of just sitting back and enjoying the show. In a mad scramble I found some solar film to fashion a filter. I drove down to my favorite spot on the river and captured these images as well as the above youtube video.
It was an awe inspiring experience, I hope some of the giddiness comes through in the video.
